Gatka, Kalaripayattu Thang-Ta, Mallakhamba - in Khelo India Youth Games 2021.

Gatka-
  • Punjab.
  • Traditional fighting style of. the Nihang Sikh warriors.
  • Used both as self-defense and a sport.
Kalaripayattu-
  • Kerala.
  • Meaning - Practice in the arts of Battlefield.
  • Simply known as "Kalari".
  • known for its long-standing history within Indian martial arts.
  • It is believed to be the oldest surviving martial art in India.
  • Dating back to 3rd century BCE.
Thang-Ta-


  • Huyen langlon is an Indian martial art from Manipur.
  • Huyen langlon consists of two main components: thang-ta (armed combat) and sarit sarak (unarmed fighting). (see above image)
  • Primary Components thang (sword) and ta (spear). 
Mallakhamba-
  • State Sport of Madhya Pradesh. As of 2017, more than 20 other states in India have followed suit.
  • The name Mallakhamb derives from the terms malla, meaning wrestler, and khamb, which means a pole.

The hosting state of khelo India youth game 2021 is Harayana

The inaugural edition lay in  New Delhi (2018).
