Lal Bahadur Shastri | 7 Values to adopt from shastriji's life

2nd of October, celebrated as the birth anniversary of Two great leaders. Though Both Gandhiji and Shastrji had dedicated their whole life for the nation, their contributions differ. However, both believed in “ Simple Living , High Thinking ”

Here , we will get aware about ideals of Shastriji and what significant relevance it carries in today's world -

  • Shastriji believed in living a simple life which he considered most prosperous in itself. So With the rising impact of Consumerism on Indian society, one should learn the difference between need and desire.

  • He discarded his surname in his childhood because he didn't believe in the Caste system. So this reflects the action taking attitude, which compels us to start from what we have and what we can do (take action) at that particular time.

  • Compassion is something which one can easily notice in the actions of Shastriji. He advised to use water instead of lathis to disperse the crowd during violent protests. A man of peace who doesn't want unnecessary conflicts.

  • Value of Honesty makes a leader an ideal one. Till death owed only one old car , not accepting any luxuries presents despite so many offerings. He bought only what he can afford and more importantly what he requires the most.

  • Empowered women by decreasing Gender based discrimination . Credit for appointing women as conductors in public transports goes to Shastri only.

  • He played a strategic role in 1965 indo-pak war, reformed Indian foreign policy and also appealed to the masses by highlighting the role played by Farmer and soldier.

  • He prepared India for the Green Revolution and sow the seeds of Self-reliance ( Atmanirbhar Bharat )

Even though we are living in this expensive materialistic world, even though money is becoming a harsh reality and popular identity, we should never go against our moral fundamentals in any case. This is what we learned from the life of Shastriji and this is what the nation states can learn to maintain peace and integrity.
